- Push Press
With the bar in the jerk rack position, bend the knees to drop the hips straight down, then reverse and drive the weight up with the hips, finishing the push to overhead with the arms. This movement is identical to the Overhead Press, however the athlete can recruit hip extension to assist in the movement of the weight. By using the hip, the athlete will transfer momentum to the bar and begin its path of travel off the shoulders and overhead. With this being said, the athlete should be able to Push press a greater load then they can Strict Press.
